Missing Something at the Grocery Store
Salmon, carrots, celery, lemons
Losing you in between the lines of the grocer’s list
The cart squeaking and clanging
Nausea
Cereal, I need some organic oat-flax-amaranth cereal
Coconut milk, can’t forget the-
She used to smile so magically at me from behind the lcd veil
Interdimensional love perhaps
And maybe I'll finally buy those rubber gloves for when I do dishes
To protect my hands from the suds and from hot scald
Wondering about her again, sitting on the banks of the St. Lawrence
Dancing the cobble walks of olden Montreal singing French folk tunes to my heart
I’ll think about her contemplating death and distance and physicality of soul and
Anything else….on that list…..
She's a poet
The best kind
Made of sparkles and diamond flares and heart pieces shattered sharp
I can hold her, none other out there can endure to hold her
I can't hold all these bags by myself though…..wish someone were here to help
Me carry all these groceries in my cloth sacks to the car
